I’m Not PERFECT (Day 3 Of Truth)

The following Post is for accomplishing Creative Challenge called 30 Days of Truth, given by Kellie Elmore. It is a unique exercise in self exploration and learning to be honest with yourself… and that ultimately leads to happiness.

30 Days of Truth

*****************************************************************************************

Sad But True !! I’m NOT really what I wanted to be.

To some extent, I am Multitasking but I’m not Master in everything as even I’m not perfect.

Well, It begins like this, whenever you achieve something in the beginning in any particular field. People really appreciating your triumph and eventually, they start expecting more and more to achieve something BIG and EPIC from yourself. Here’s the FACT: – While admiring on your achievements, people begin to imagine that you’ve become some kinda expert or “Guru” in that field, who could do probably do anything. They Over-rate you sometimes for what you’re doing, just to Brag about their friends’ achievements in front of others. Kinda Weird Thing I suppose !! But that’s TRUE sometimes. 😛

It usually happens with me. Whenever I achieve something in my particular field of interest, whether it was poetry/rapping, mimicry, artwork or computer programming. I’ve got a lot of unexpected compliments from many, in School, in College, in Facebook, and even in my Blog and to whom I really admire for their kind support. But on the contrary, I also have to confront some people sometimes, who would come to you for a while and say something GOOD on your achievement in the meantime. They even would give you a Title as “The Pro”, “The Champ” and “The Studin that field. Well at the beginning, it feels GOOD for a time. But later it becomes so annoying that I really get pissed-off when people still calling me so, just for their FUN. And even if you didn’t come to their so-called lame expectations, they demoralize you for that. Now that really Bamboozles me a lot !!

I had certain instances in my Life. But I would tell you about that some another day.

Coming straight back to the point. Neither I want such people who just appreciating me just for namesake, nor such people who even over-rate me and my talent. Expecting a genuine and worthily helpful compliment is something else. It is usually given by those people who really understand you and your level, and admires you for what you’re doing from the starting. They are unlike so-called braggers and over-raters, who just praise you for a while and won’t give a DAMN about what you’re doing later.

However, in a form of feedback, even I don’t give a DAMN what these douchebags have to say about me and my talent. I usually like to focus on my work in a silent environment without any interference or distractions from anybody, and showcase either in my Facebook Profile or mostly in my Blog. Ya, I admit that I publicize my work for promotion, in front of those who genuinely admire it. I honestly don’t expect so much from anybody. But there are some people around me who would really see my work and genuinely appreciate or criticize on it for my sake. For the rest, seriously I don’t give a F*ck about it. 😛

For other guys, I don’t know and even don’t wanna discuss about their talent and skills. But like y’all, I’m not Perfect in any case. I’m just walking on the Road to Perfection and I like this way. I know my potential and sense of satisfaction. I know where I really stand now in my fields of interest. Hopefully, I would seize The Biggest Achievement of my Life in future.

Moreover, won’t that be a FUN, if you struggle for Perfection rather calling yourself or being Perfect every time. Seriously, Being PERFECT is so boring. It DAMN better to make your aims and achievements so higher that you would like to battle for earning it.

Journeying For Dreams

Sometimes in the lateness of night’s cover,
don’t you wonder at everything
how life seems to be made up of
a series of ups and downs…
always keeping us at our toes’ end.

No rest, just continuous slogging on
the path is long and winded
there are rivers and mountains
as wide as huge as the imagination can weave.

Those are the obstacles waiting to meet us
waiting to bring us down
down I may go
but up I will rise again
with wit and determination
to reach my destination.

The motions are set into work once again
who knows how it all will turn out?
pray may I be blessed
with good luck and good fortune
that I may surpass myself someday
that I may look back and say
it’s been a good journey.

The Way To See The Time

“Men talk of killing time, while time quietly kills them.”

I just thought of something pretty neat. Now, our brains are poorly wired to understand the concept of time, and we often associate the “flow” of time with Euclidean vectors and shapes. We then break time into discrete absolute units like years and then break those years into days, hours, minutes and seconds – but if Einstein’s anyone to go by (and you can bet he is), time is a relative creature.

Most people in the world visualise the hours of a day (or rather, a half day) with a clockwise cyclical circle. This is most certainly a conditioned mental image because most of us grew up telling time using an analogue clock. So if I am to make an educated guess, I’d say that a person who grew up without ever seeing that iconic 12-hour face would see a wholly different shape of his day in his head. If I ever produce a kid, I’d try teaching him to tell the time using sundials and see how his mind’s eye perceive the daily hours – among other messed-up, nurture-type psych experiments I’ve thought up over the years. This is also why I shouldn’t be allowed to procreate.

Then, there are time units which are much less ubiquitously and graphically represented and thus, would figure very differently in different individuals. Take the 7-day week, for example. This is how I see the week in my mind,

My Weekly Shape

I consider Monday the first day of the week. The weekdays are arranged in a horizontal row from left to right, bowing slightly upwards. My Saturday and Sunday are “situated” below them, swinging from right to left in the curve of a smile. It’s a bit like a semicircle, looping back again and again on itself.

The girlfriend sees her entire week in a straight horizontal line running from Monday to Sunday which rewinds back to the start of every new week.

Let’s scale it up to a month, shall we? Phoebs’ month has its days arranged in rows of seven. The days in each row runs from left to right and subsequent rows are placed below the preceding ones. The leftover days of every month (except non-leap year Februaries) would form the fifth and final row. It’s essentially how a calendar page is configured.

Me? This is how my month looks like,

My Monthly Steps

I visualise the progression from one month to the next as a “step” up from left to right, with the previous month vaporising away as soon as the transition is complete. I also break every month into two parts: the first 19 days being one bit and all the remaining days being the second. There’s also a “step” to climb between day 19 and day 20. Do not ask me why I think this way because I haven’t a fucking clue. It just feels right.

Anyway, when I zoom out to the scale of a year, the stepladder effect disappears and I get a smooth, flat line heading eastward,

My Yearly Journey

My vision of time itself is also a left-to-right horizontal line. I fancy that this is probably the influence of how historical and scientific timelines are traditionally depicted. Unlike mine, Phoebs’ year is oriented vertically from up to down. And she envisions the concept of time as going forward, with the past positioned behind her. Her predilection might have been persuaded by the English language (the tongue she thinks in) which does in fact assign such arbitrary prepositions to the the past and future.

And I’ve even heard of a guy who sees the months of a year as points on an analemma. What a nerd.

I don’t know about you but I find this to be fascinating stuff. All my life, it never occurred to me until now that all of us perceive time in different fashions. Knowing how someone would process time feels a bit like taking a tiny glimpse into how his or her mind operates. It might not be terribly informative, I know, but it’s still pretty damn cool.

So how do you see time? Describe your week, month or year here. Enquiring minds want to know!

“The Music Girl II” – Sketching and Crayon-Coloring

Well Guys, I’m not done yet !!
Actually, I’ve to even made another Poster for my College Fest Event (organised by me and my friends), which I’ve already mentioned in my previous Post.

No no time waste in discussion and Let’s move Further. 😛

Well Last time, I’ve made a Pencil Sketching of a Girl with a Headphone on her head, depicting as she is Listening Music. And also, some Graffiti as well. But, This time I’ve made a bit simple just to complete as faster. So I made a simple Cartoon of a Music Girl. After Sketching (with some rubbing and re-drawing), It’s time to apply some color. But this this time, I’ve again used Wax Crayons for base with some Oil Pastel Colors for highlighting.

And ultimately, you get your Job done like this. 😀

The Event which we are probably going to organize in our College Fest is ” The Music Quiz”. 8)

Well obviously, I have to make a Poster related to Music stuff for our Event which must have to lure the people and attend our Event.

So Getting started with it, I’ve made a Pencil Sketching of a Girl with a Headphone on her head, depicting as she is Listening Music. After Sketching (with some rubbing and re-drawing), It’s time to apply some color. But this this time, I’ve used Wax Crayons for base with some Oil Pastel Colors for highlighting.
