The Life of an Engineering Dude

I would like to let you all know that I’ve become an Engineering Graduate in IT Major. Finally, all those hard working days of curricular and extra-curricular assignments during these 4 years have come to an end. Just Feeling Emotional these days.

Anyways, these college days had brought back the artist in me which was lost in the darkness for a while. You have already got me through my plenty of artworks done during this timeline. Well, a big thanks to those boring lectures, free classrooms, college fests and all those appreciation and criticisms by people. They were the major influence for my motivation and inspiration to imagine bigger and progress higher.

As a matter of fact, I would like to share my artwork with you all right now. This is a simple cartoon sketch based on the major stereotypes I’ve seen so far in my college. I’ve pencil sketched a cool engineering dude (resembles mostly with me) with multiple hands holding various things defining a particular stereotype (resembles like any Indian Goddess). Moreover, the stereotypes have been written with that good ole and the obvious Graffiti Style Tags.

So, this is how it looks like when all the stereotypes come in a single master piece.

The Engineering Dude

Actually, this proposed idea was sketched for our class official T-shirt as a memento. Many people liked the artwork, but were unsure about its final appearance in a shirt. Unfortunately, this idea was dropped due to lack of response and interest in participation from the class. However, I discovered another idea (with the some help of some of my classmates) which finally became the official shirt of our class. I’ll tell you the complete story some another day.

PS:- There are plenty of artworks made during my college days, which have not been posted here yet. I will post them as soon as possible. So Fellas !! Stay Connected. Stay Updated.

Hopefully, y’all have like this piece of work and don’t forget to post you reviews.

The Iron “Dishoom” Fist

Heyy Guys !!

This past Week our College celebrated The Annual Inter-College Cultural Festival called “Moksha” with Bollywood Theme, dedicating a tribute to 100 Years of Indian Cinema.

Besides, I have decided to give a little tribute to this Bollywood Achievement in my blog. To get started with, I have simply drawn a pencil cartoon sketching of a Right Hand Fist punching out from the paper with Dishoom (Typical Bollywood) sound. 😛

Take a look on the artwork, fellas.

Although I am not Crazy Bollywood Fan (especially these days), but I really like some cliches and stereotypes which makes the movie funny and entertaining. Still there are many classic and cult Bollywood Movies which I would like to watch many times. The List is too long, I won’t bore you.

Overall in a nutshell, It’s all about

Entertainment, Entertainment and Entertainment 😉

The Rocking Poster

Heyy Guys !!

This Week our College is celebrating The Annual Inter-College Cultural Festival called “Moksha” with Bollywood Theme, dedicating a tribute to 100 Years of Indian Cinema.

While taking a look on archives of my college memories  I discovered some pics of my poster artworks when I was working as a member in the Fine Arts Department during this particular Fest 2 years back. I was working under the guidance of Shivang Gupta and Arshia Gupta, who were really amazing in Fine Arts especially in Painting. Since they know about my passion for Rock Music and Graffiti Artwork during participation in the previous fest, I was therefore assigned to create a poster for the Rock Night Event called “Avalanche”.

Regarding this theme, I came up with my own idea and started drawing a Rough Pencil Sketch on A4 Sheet before making the Big Artwork. I ‘ve made an Electric Guitar at the center having a White Angel and Dark Bat wings on either sides, depicting the both sides (Good Heaven and Evil Hell) of Rock Music. I’ve also made two Large Speakers behind that guitar, setting them on fire and two Rocking Fists on the edges. It tool me about an hour to thin and draw the rough sketch. Now I show this sketch to my senior mentors, they really found really nice and creative (though they laughed a little at first which made me nervous).

And then, I started to make it on a full size Cartidge Sheet. Now I had to sketch my whole idea even more detailed. Plus, I also had to write the name of that event in some Calligraphy (appearing to be some what heavy) at the bottom of my artwork.

After 4 hours of hard work and dedication, the Final picture came like the way I expected.

Well that was one of my best moments when I contributed something for my College during this fest. I enjoyed my time in Fine Arts Work with some nice inspiring seniors, who became my good friends soon. But there are some of my batchmates who taunted me, “Tu Fine Arts Hi Karr” (“You could only do Fine Arts”). But I didn’t bother about the comments from those creepy losers as I am not impressing them for their pleasure sake. Plus, Haters could only be just jealous and talk shit. In the end, I had some fun those days and will be having so in the future.

Muscle Wheelie

Heyy Guys !!

Few weeks back, I was studying Cryptography really hard for my upcoming Mid Semester College Examinations. Though it is a quite interesting subject, but I desperately needed a break for a while as I was cramming my notes for 4 hours non-stop. 😛

In order to kill the stress and produce some creativity, I started scribbling a small artwork (for which I am passionate of) on my Cryptography Book. I simply draw a cartoon of an American Muscle Car performing a Wheelie Burnout Stunt, with Ball Point Pen.

Take a look on the artwork, fellas.

Doraemon – Cartoon Sketching

Hi Guys !!

I’m back again with my artwork.  I’ve already told y’all that the End Semester of my College is about to begin and therefore, I’ve decided to ruin some of my College Notes once again with an amazing art. Besides, I thought how about to ruin someone else’s. 😛

I’ve made this Artwork few months ago on my Friend’s Notebook. He actually asked me for making an artwork for his younger siblings. It’s just a simple cartoon sketch of  Doraemon (One of favorite Cartoons of all time), with HB Pencil. Take a look on it Fellas !!

Sketching Graffiti in Bengali

Heyy guys !!

I’m back again with my artwork.  Many of you might remember that, how’d I celebrated Durga Puja festival last year with my College Classroom board and chalks. 😛 But due to my prior engagements in Busy College Assignment Work and some other personal works, I have hardly got time to celebrate Durga Puja this year. 😦

However, I’ve got something really interesting to show y’all. I’ve made this Artwork few months ago. It just simply a Graffiti writtenDabangg (meaning : Brave) in Bengali language, with the help of Blue-n’-Black Ball-Point Pens. 😉

Top 10 Technical Resume Writing Tips

Need help creating or updating your resume? It certainly can be complicated because your resume is going to be reviewed by software as well as by hiring managers. Review these top resume tips for choosing a resume format, selecting a resume font, customizing your resume, using resume keywords, explaining employment gaps, and more tips for writing interview winning resumes. Trust me it really worked well for me during my placement sessions and in future, and so do it would help you out in achieving success.

Let’s take a look on some of important tips and tricks to write a good enough resume:-

  • List your technical knowledge first, in an organized way. Your technical strengths must stand out clearly at the beginning of your resume. Ultimately, your resume is going to be read by a thoughtful human being, but before it gets to that point it often has to be categorized by an administrative clerk, and make its way past various sorts of key word searches. Therefore, you should list as many directly relevant buzz words as you can which reflect your knowledge and experience. List all operating systems and UNIX flavors you know.
  • List all programming languages and platforms with which you’re experienced. List all software you are skilled with. Make it obvious at a glance where your strengths lie – whether the glance is from a hiring manager, a clerk, or a machine.
  • List your qualifications in order of relevance, from most to least. Only list your degree and educational qualifications first if they are truly relevant to the job for which you are applying. If you’ve already done what you want to do in a new job, by all means, list it first, even if it wasn’t your most recent job. Abandon any strict adherence to a chronological ordering of your experience.
  • Quantify your experience wherever possible. Cite numerical figures, such as monetary budgets/funds saved, time periods/efficiency improved, lines of code written/debugged, numbers of machines administered/fixed, etc. which demonstrate progress or accomplishments due directly to your work.
  • Begin sentences with action verbs. Portray yourself as someone who is active, uses their brain, and gets things done. Stick with the past tense, even for descriptions of currently held positions, to avoid confusion.
  • Don’t sell yourself short. This is by far the biggest mistake of all resumes, technical and otherwise. Your experiences are worthy for review by hiring managers. Treat your resume as an advertisement for you. Be sure to thoroughly “sell” yourself by highlighting all of your strengths. If you’ve got a valuable asset which doesn’t seem to fit into any existing components of your resume, list it anyway as its own resume segment.
  • Be concise. As a rule of thumb, resumes reflecting five years or less experience should fit on one page. More extensive experience can justify usage of a second page. Consider three pages (about 15 years or more experience) an absolute limit. Avoid lengthy descriptions of whole projects of which you were only a part. Consolidate action verbs where one task or responsibility encompasses other tasks and duties. Minimize usage of articles (the, an, a) and never use “I” or other pronouns to identify yourself.
  • Omit needless items. Leave all these things off your resume: social security number, marital status, health, citizenship, age, scholarships, irrelevant awards, irrelevant associations and memberships, irrelevant publications, irrelevant recreational activities, a second mailing address (“permanent address” is confusing and never used), references, reference of references (“available upon request”), travel history, previous pay rates, previous supervisor names, and components of your name which you really never use (i.e. middle names).
  • Have a trusted friend review your resume. Be sure to pick someone who is attentive to details, can effectively critique your writing, and will give an honest and objective opinion. Seriously consider their advice. Get a third and fourth opinion if you can.
  • Proofread, proofread, proofread. Be sure to catch all spelling errors, grammatical weaknesses, unusual punctuation, and inconsistent capitalizations. Proofread it numerous times over at least two days to allow a fresh eye to catch any hidden mistakes.
  • Laser print it on plain, white paper. Handwriting, typing, dot matrix printing, and even ink jet printing look pretty cheesy. Stick with laser prints. Don’t waste your money on special bond paper, matching envelopes, or any color deviances away from plain white. Your resume will be photocopied, faxed, and scanned numerous times, defeating any special paper efforts, assuming your original resume doesn’t first end up in the circular file.
