The Iron “Dishoom” Fist

Heyy Guys !!

This past Week our College celebrated The Annual Inter-College Cultural Festival called “Moksha” with Bollywood Theme, dedicating a tribute to 100 Years of Indian Cinema.

Besides, I have decided to give a little tribute to this Bollywood Achievement in my blog. To get started with, I have simply drawn a pencil cartoon sketching of a Right Hand Fist punching out from the paper with Dishoom (Typical Bollywood) sound. 😛

Take a look on the artwork, fellas.

Although I am not Crazy Bollywood Fan (especially these days), but I really like some cliches and stereotypes which makes the movie funny and entertaining. Still there are many classic and cult Bollywood Movies which I would like to watch many times. The List is too long, I won’t bore you.

Overall in a nutshell, It’s all about

Entertainment, Entertainment and Entertainment 😉

The Rocking Poster

Heyy Guys !!

This Week our College is celebrating The Annual Inter-College Cultural Festival called “Moksha” with Bollywood Theme, dedicating a tribute to 100 Years of Indian Cinema.

While taking a look on archives of my college memories  I discovered some pics of my poster artworks when I was working as a member in the Fine Arts Department during this particular Fest 2 years back. I was working under the guidance of Shivang Gupta and Arshia Gupta, who were really amazing in Fine Arts especially in Painting. Since they know about my passion for Rock Music and Graffiti Artwork during participation in the previous fest, I was therefore assigned to create a poster for the Rock Night Event called “Avalanche”.

Regarding this theme, I came up with my own idea and started drawing a Rough Pencil Sketch on A4 Sheet before making the Big Artwork. I ‘ve made an Electric Guitar at the center having a White Angel and Dark Bat wings on either sides, depicting the both sides (Good Heaven and Evil Hell) of Rock Music. I’ve also made two Large Speakers behind that guitar, setting them on fire and two Rocking Fists on the edges. It tool me about an hour to thin and draw the rough sketch. Now I show this sketch to my senior mentors, they really found really nice and creative (though they laughed a little at first which made me nervous).

And then, I started to make it on a full size Cartidge Sheet. Now I had to sketch my whole idea even more detailed. Plus, I also had to write the name of that event in some Calligraphy (appearing to be some what heavy) at the bottom of my artwork.

After 4 hours of hard work and dedication, the Final picture came like the way I expected.

Well that was one of my best moments when I contributed something for my College during this fest. I enjoyed my time in Fine Arts Work with some nice inspiring seniors, who became my good friends soon. But there are some of my batchmates who taunted me, “Tu Fine Arts Hi Karr” (“You could only do Fine Arts”). But I didn’t bother about the comments from those creepy losers as I am not impressing them for their pleasure sake. Plus, Haters could only be just jealous and talk shit. In the end, I had some fun those days and will be having so in the future.

The Making of a Mascot

Well Guys !!

This Time I’ve brought not only something NEW, but also Something BIG for y’all. I alongwith my College NSIT Fine Arts Team, had made an Official Mascot for our College’s Technical Fest : Innovision 2011 few months ago. But this time we’ve decided to make something BIG such that everyone gets to witness how much BIG a MASCOT could be.

Well, Our Senior In-charge of Fine Arts Team, Sraisth Sunny was the guy behind all of this. He just came with a concept of creating a Big Mascot for displaying the visitors at our Fest. He draw a simple rough sketch of mascot giving us an idea and even asked us some changes. Me and my Year-mates, Arjun Paul and Kavyaraj Naik, have been given responsibility on its making.

After having a look on it, first of all we had to think not only the expected size of Mascot but also about the background colour and the type of Sheet to be used. I’ve seen the technique of Merging Small Sheets into a Large Sheet for making Large Backdrops, for our Cultural Fest : Moksha. That experience really helped us out. After predicting the Mascot Size, we merged 3 full-sized A2 Violet Cartridge Sheets, which crossed to a length around 6 Feet (almost my height :P).

Now it was time to begin with the sketch work. Personally speaking I had a hard time on making that DAMN sketch. As I never made such a Big Sketch on Sheet, It tool me approximately 6 Hours in sketching, alongwith Erasing the Errors and Molding them with Perfection. A Great thanks to my Junior, Gyan Ranjan ,who did a Fantastic job in suggesting me and even re-sketching my errors. He’s indeed a Phenomenal Sketcher.

Well, unfortunately y’all might be unable to see the exact sketching of our Mascot clearly. My Bad photography. 😛 Anyways after finalizing the sketch from Sraisth Sir, its time to apply some colour on our Work. We were still on doubt on the Color Combination of The Mascot as most of the Fine Arts Boys Team was good in Sketching but not in Coloring. 😛 Still we managed somehow and completed the Coloring Work in 2 Hours. And after 8 Hours of Complete Hard Work, the Mascot finally has been made. It’s truly looking like Iron Man, but an Indian Avatar. Take a Look. 😉

Even the Graffiti Board on which this Work has to be pasted, was covered with the same Violet Cartridge Sheet. The Mascot was Pasted on that 10 Foot Long Board. And Gyan did a fabulous job, in painting The Name of our Fest : Innovision (with slogans below) and The The Name of its Mascot : Innyoto (A Wacky Japanese name:P). An ultimately, We’ve got a Complete Poster.

I really thank to my Grand Fine Arts Team, who made this possible. Also a Great Thanks to those people, who saw this piece of Hard Work of ours and appreciated damn well. 🙂

Fun & Excitement (Day 1 at INNO 2010 )

Well, Our College has its Annual Inter-College Technical Fest, called “Innovision” or simply say “Inno”. It is generally being held during the fall of January. It has many fascinating Technical Contests to watch like- C/Java Programming Contest, Quiz Shows, Robo Wars, Line-Detector Machine Race, 3-D Screening, LAN Gaming and many more. Even also some exciting adventurous elements like- Raffling, River Rafting, Parasailing, Go Karting etc. It’s a 3-Day Fest and a way to get rid from your Semester Pressure for a while.

Since, I’ve heard a lot about its Importance in Technical Line during my Orientation form Teachers and even about its Fun & Excitement from many Seniors. So after listening something so much so far, I was very very excited about that and eager to be a part of it as Twas my 1st “Innovision” and eventually, I don’t wanted to miss it. Not at all !!!

After so much waiting for its arrival, “Inno – 2010” has come back to NSIT. At the very 1st day, I’ve got to see so many Technical Related stuffs from various guys representing different colleges, which impressed us a lot and an inspiration to learn.

However, just for a while though, It made me sometimes to feel like its bit my unfortunate that I am unable to participate as I’m kinda n00b in front of those extreme guys of this yard. Still, watching those PROs with their amazing skills even was also a great Experience, which brushed away my Grief for that moment. I also saw the “The Defence Expo”, where I have got to see many modern weapons and equipments which are currently being used by The Indian Army. We played with them holding Guns and Rifles for a while. It seemed like that Counter-Strike went Real.  Even at that time, I just day-dreaming, though it was about 6 evening, of being a Fearless Soldier (typical DABANGG i must say :P) and whip some Candy asses of Terrorists with such lethal weapons in your hands. 😛

But the main event was incomparable in front of them, when we got to see “The Laser Show” in the evening. Ohh man!! It was very delightful to watch that you might miss something if you blinked your eyes for a while. Unfortunately, I was unable to shoot its video as my Mobile Battery was low due to shooting some other Photos and Videos. 😛

Still, whatever I’ve seen from my eyes was Simply Amazing. 8)

Would like to tell you about the other days. Cya till then. 😉
