Rock v/s Metal

Hiee Guys !!

It’s been quite a lot of time since I’ve posted my last Art Blog Post. Well kinda busy in office works, so hardly get any time to post here actively. Hover, I am still trying to balance between my brand new office life and my good ole creative life. The fight is still going on between them for setting priorities and making commitments.

Anyways, I’m back to blogging because I’ve got something to showcase over here. 😉

Well, you all know about my passion and addiction for Rock and Metal Music through my previous posts. I don’t wanna get into the details, just simply and check out my “The Big 4” Artwork. You’ll get plenty of idea and besides, I am kinda busy, you see.  đŸ˜›

Moving on, I’ve simply sketched an Electric Guitar on the White Board, using Temporary White Board Markers. Making something interesting on this guitar, I’ve included an Angel wing (representing Rock music) and a Devil wing (representing Metal music). Since I like my artwork to look complete on Board with no white spaces left, I’ve written the names of some my favorite Rock bands (in Blue Color) and Metal bands (in Red Color) in the background. Well the Angel Wings and Blue colored Rock Band names defines the softness and serenity of Rock Music, while the Devil Wing and Red colored Metal Band names personifies the hardness and extremity of Metal Music.

With this idea of Rock-Metal Duality in mind, the masterpiece was made. Take a look fellas !!

556706_10201933189916997_4369954_n

DAMN !! It took me around almost 2-3 days to complete this artwork during the Lunch or Free time in my Office. Finally, the hard work and patience really paid off. Moreover, some of my colleagues liked it very well.  I’m feeling glad that I could resume my sketching hobby during the hectic office hours also. However, a lot a Board Markers were used to make this thing happen. Hopefully, my Boss won’t be mad. Fingers Crossed. 😛

And by the way, it has been an amazing 3 months experience so far in my office. I’ll tell you the complete story some another day. Besides, There are plenty of artworks made during my college days, which have not been posted here yet. I will post them as soon as possible.

So Fellas !! Stay Connected. Stay Updated.

Hopefully, y’all have like this piece of work and don’t forget to post you reviews.

In My City

Heyy Guys !!

I’m back again with my artwork. I wanna tell y’all something. Few days ago, I’ve seen a music video calledIn My City by model-turn-actress-turn-singer Priyanka Chopra featuring Black Eyed Peas‘ singer Will.i.Am. In my opinion, the music is really terrible just because it is modern commercial sellout, that same old shitty work with autotune vocals and party beats. Moreover, its music video is even more terrible, with worst choreography and background scene. The annoying part of this video is that she bragged a lot of things about her partying life in her city (which was supposed to be her home town – Bareilly or working town- Mumbai, but the whole video shoot happened to appear somewhere in Los Angeles). Facepalm.

Just like Ashley Tisdale, she is also nice actress (won’t say the best actress ever :P), but not really a good singer. Moreover, she sold herself out with this annoying song without even showing her real roots. But hardly this commercial Entertainment Industry and the butthurt Priyanka Chopra Fan base (I prefer calling such people as Fantards 😛) gonna understand the fact.

The main agenda of above mentioned story is to show how people get away from their roots and pretend to be someone else, just to impress the modern crowd. I could go on more with other examples, but would tell that some other day.

Anyways coming back to my art topic. After getting pissed with that annoying and delusional music video, I’ve checked down my art archives searching relevant to my roots in my city – Delhi.

Well !! The artwork which I’m going to showcase, I’ve made quite a year while practicing for my very 1st Graffiti Battle in Hip-Hop Jam. I’ve made the cartoon sketches of various attractions of Delhi – Red Fort, Lots Temple, Jantar Mantar, Qutab Minar, India Gate and Delhi Metro, in the background and a graffiti guy (actually me :P) spraying a Graffiti art “Delhi” on the wall, in the foreground with the help blue ball-point pen.

Now since y’all know about my passion and obsession with Graffiti and my residence in Delhi.
So then fellas, take a look on the artwork.

My City Delhi

Well !! This is my City and these are my roots. I love keeping them real, unlike pretending like any crazy Bollywood Actress posing to be a professional singer.

ROOTS !! BLOODY ROOTS !!

Hopefully, y’all have like this piece of work and don’t forget to post you reviews.

The Big Four Artwork

Hi Guys !!

Welcome to my very first art post of this very New Year of 2013.

As most of you guys know about The Big Four Bands of Thrash Metal. They have rocked the whole world for 30 years and still running wild. Plus, they are one of my Favorite Bands of all time, which makes me to dedicate my piece of art as a fan tribute for all the experiences in my life.

This post was supposed to be pressed on the last Sunday of 2012. Actually, I’ve skipped last week completely due to busy participation in the movement of Justice in Delhi Gangrape Case. But anyways, I’m resuming my work schedule again from the beginning of this auspicious new year.

Well, You all have witnessed all my previous artworks based on the above mentioned theme. I have already made the logos of these amazing Thrash Metal bands. Now as I’ve promised to y’all since the beginning of December 2012, it’s time to showcase the big one. Really, A Big One !! 🙂

To being with, I’ve simply made the official logo of “The Big 4” with HB pencil on an A4 Sheet and cut it out in a Guitar Pick shape. Take a look around fellas. 😉

The ‘Metallica’ Graffiti Art

Hi Guys !!

As most of you guys know about The Big Four Bands of Thrash Metal. They have rocked the whole world for 30 years and still running wild. Plus, they are one of my Favorite Bands of all time.

original

Now since the world might be at its end stage, so I’ve decided to make an Artwork Dedicated to one of those Legends as a Tribute like last week.

Well, This week is strongly dedicated to the Band called Metallica. This is the first band which I’ve followed first when I was around 14. Before that, I’ve hardly known a little bit of rock songs that I’ve either listened on the Radio or watched its Video on MTV or even randomly from a Hollywood Movie or WWE, as the background score. Just few names like – AC/DC, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park and Bryan Adams, I was aware of them only. I used to get  some goosebumps those days (and still now sometimes) whenever I’ve listened to such heavy songs.  🙂

But Honestly speaking, I wouldn’t have discovered Metallica myself that time until my friend gave a complete CD pack of their songs. After looking around at my so-called choice in such music, he strongly recommended to listen to it like a True Metal Fan.

I still remember that Summer of year 2005, when I had my first desktop at home and got plenty of PC Games, from my dear friend. And after getting a complete collection of Metallica from my Metalhead friend, I’ve got a good shit to listen. I used to listen Linkin Park a lot, even before I had my PC. But still, I preferred to listen to Metallica more, just because it was so awesome. So Heavy, So Energetic. Simply Amazing. While listening to it, some people around me used to think that it is too Loud, Noisy, Mad, Arrogant, Violent and Anti-social, because Bollywood and Pop songs are the mainstream in India. But I hardly bothered and still I do.

I guess, 2005, it was indeed the year which had brought a change in me. And as soon as I got more versed with my PC and permission for Internet Connection from my Dad later in the year 2007, I’d explored more stuffs like this, which eventually had started changing me a lot in the knowledge of Music (specially Rock, and more precisely Metal) to a level where I am right now.

Well, this is my prolonging passion and addiction for Metallica and for other Rock Bands. Coming back to my artwork. It’s just so simple. The Artwork of logo this legendary band has been drawn with Ball-point pen on an A4 Sheet, along with the names of their famous songs (around 50-60 I guess), written in (my personal favorite) Graffiti Tags.

Take a look on this collaboration fellas.

Tribute to Freddie Mercury

Hi Guys !!

As most of you guys know that yesterday was 11th Death Anniversary of The Legendary Rock Artist and The True Rockstar of 80s. Freddie Mercury, the Frontman of Queen, was indeed the most rocking personality. His dedication and contribution in Music Industry had become and still will be an epitome of greatness and perfection.

And Besides, I have decided to showcase an abstract sketch artwork, which I’ve drawn a long time ago using Ball Point Pen on a Cardboard, giving him a Tribute. At least as a Fan, I oughta do this. 🙂

Anyways, Take a look on it Fellas !!

Visit To HIP-HOP JAM

After practicing for a week, I finally visited to Hip-Hop Jam in my own city, for Graffiti Battle. Since it’s summer time in Delhi and plus, it was Sunday that day, i was kinda one hell of a DTC Bus Travelling Experience from my home to the place of that event. Even reaching to the nearest Bus Station, I had to walk even few more miles more to reach the exact destination, screwing my Legs.

Ohh man !! It was so exhausting. 😛

However, my spirit never let to me feel tired at all. I know there would be many DAMN GOOD Graffiti Artists in Delhi, ( obviously way better than me) would be arriving for the Battle. I might not have a chance to defeat them. But still wanted to have some fun and learning experience with them. Anyways, coming back to the story again. 😛

I was bit 20 minutes late from the schedules time. But the event haven’t begun yet and plus, I was the first Graffiti Sketcher to reach there. Lucky me! 😛 Few minutes passed by, many people came for other Hip-Hop Events like- B-Boyin Battle, Popping Battle, Breaking Battle, Footwork Battle, Powermove Battle etc. etc. They all were dressed up like those typical Hip-Hop guys with Wide Caps, Loose Shirts and Sneakers on. Oh Yeah !! That was truly a Hip-Hopper looks like. Apart from their look, they indeed had the impressive skills as well.

It was very boring in sitting for almost an hour and waiting for everything to get started.  I therefore, opened my Sketch book and practiced a lil bit of Graffiti again for a while. This is what I made to warm-up myself  in this scorching heat.

It’s an incomplete artwork, gonna complete and upload it sooner. 😉

526179_3876549317840_695172675_n

As the time passed by, the place got more crowded and heat was rising up. Soon I met some amazing Graffiti Artists of the town. These guys had really cool names : Asidic, Felix, Dizzy, Komet and many more. I was really excited to meet them as I’ve a done some little bit of interaction (kinda chit-chat) with these guys in Facebook few days back. The interesting part was that they all were just Teenagers (mostly, all school kids) and I, 20 Year old college guy, as only the eldest one. 😛 Almost everyone of them belong to some particular Hip-Hop Crew. Bit annoyed and even stunned, but It’s OK as these kids really know more about the thing in which I laid interest. They know the forms, the ciphers, the tools and the techniques so well. Damn !! Such things never evolve at my teenage time. All we had that time is to simply watch and get inspired from such graffiti shits on MTV Barrio 19 or some Hip-Hop Music Video. But since there is a New Morning everyday, it ain’t the end of the world. I could learn something from these young urban artists. Besides, Dizzy gave me her green marker to showcase my tag name “Ash Bee” on my arm.

So this is what really came next. 😉

527276_3876547757801_883299552_n

So, the Hip-Hop Jam begun with some spontaneous showcase of Street Dance. It was too splendid and ecstatic. Even way better than what we see in Indian Television. You could feel that Hip-Hop is really evolving here, not only by looks but also by their style. An experienced and amazing Artist here, Rane Insame a.k.a. D.J. O.I.C. told something about us Hip-Hop. He explained us about the 5 different elements of Hip-Hop : MC’ing (Rapping), DJ’ing (Turntablism), Graffiti (Art), Dancing (Breaking, Up-Rocking, Popping, Locking), and most importantly, Knowledge. He idolizes Afrika Bambataa, the Godfather of Hip-Hop Culture, who discovered those five elements. Rame had a splendid knowledge as he is following this culture for almost 19 years since his teen hood. He has also seen the invading era of Hip-Hop of 21st Century Indian Youth Generation, starting from the scratch.  He really knows the roots as he was truly from the hood. 😉

Moreover, He was the Judge for our Graffiti Battle. 😉

With his amazing introduction, the Hip-Hop Battle events and so do our Graffiti Battle started. We were allotted around 20 minutes to make a Graffiti Cipher on a word “COPE”, using your own unique style along with your tagging name on the side. Time was too short for a newbie like me.

All I could make at the limited amount of time is kinda like this. 😛

581490_3876551117885_526557309_n

Some of the competitors and even participants from other Hip-Hop Events really liked it so well, but not enough impress our judge, Rame. So therefore, I was knocked out from the first round. 😛

The Final Battle Round was between Komet, Asidic and Felix. They were allotted more time for writing a Graffiti Cipher on a word “ROOTS”. We were looking the artwork of all three of them time to time. I seemed like Asidic and Felix were getting an edge. But in the end, it was Komet who nailed the thing and won the final. He was also rewarded with a pack of Sabotaz Graffiti Spray Cans (first time in India). He really earned everything – the skill from his crew, the prize from this event and the respect from all of us. It was a hell lot of fun. I really enjoyed that shit. My very first experience was really amazing, so what I lost. Like I’ve said it ain’t the end of the world.
There is another Hip-Hop Jam coming soon in my town and I’ll be ready for that. 😉

Too Young To Die

This Blog Post was Posted as ” Died Too Soon “ in  The Y! Music Playlist Blog

***********************************************************************************************************************

Tragic deaths happen every day, but when someone famous dies it sends reverberations throughout the culture. In a small way, the shock of a celebrity death is good, because it makes us reflect on our mortality. Hopefully, this reflection wakes us up to the reality of how short life really is, and in turn, helps us to slow down, enjoy life and make the right decisions.

Musicians have a reputation for living on the edge, and many have paid the ultimate price.

For this playlist I have selected my top picks for musicians who died too soon. Specifically, before the age of thirty. As I looked through this completed list what amazed me most was not the tragedy of a life cut short, but the accomplishments achieved by those so young.

1. Robert Johnson
Cross Road Blues – Robert Johnson
May 8, 1911 – August 16, 1938
Age: 27
The legendary tap root of popular music, Robert Johnson, died at a cross roads near Greenwood, Mississippi. It is rumoured that he was poisoned by a jealous boyfriend or husband of a woman whom he had become involved with.

2. Eddie Cochran
Summertime Blues – Eddie Cochran
October 3, 1938 – April 17, 1960
Age: 21
Eddie Cochran was touring overseas when he got into a taxi at Chippenham, Wiltshire, England. Unfortunately, his driver was reckless and crashed into a lamp post killing Eddie after he was thrown from the vehicle. The cab driver went to jail for 6 months and lost his license for 15 years.

3. Buddy Holly
That’ll Be The Day – Buddy Holly
September 7, 1936 – February 3, 1959
Age: 22
Charles Hardin Holley, better known as “Buddy Holly” was killed in what is arguably the most famous musical tragedy in history when the Beechcraft Bonanza aircraft he was travelling in crashed. The accident was immortalized by Don McLean in the song “American Pie”.

4. Ritchie Valens
La Bamba – Ritchie Valens
May 13, 1941 – February 3, 1959
Age: 17
Ritchies Valens is the forefather of Chicano rock and had an extremely bright future ahead of him. Unfortunately, he was on the same plane that Buddy Holly was on “the day the music died”. Also of note that day is the death of J.P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson” (Age: 28) who was also on the plane and known for his hit song “Chantilly Lace”.

5. Jimi Hendrix
Castles Made Of Sand – Jimi Hendrix
November 27, 1942 – September 18, 1970
Age: 27
There is some mystery around Jimi Hendrix’s death in London. He was found dead by his girlfriend when she awoke, and the official reports show that he drown in his own vomit consisting mostly of red wine. It is also said that he had taken nine of his girlfriend’s prescription sleeping pills, which may have led to his inability to awaken and save himself.

6. Kurt Cobain (Nirvana)
Heart-Shaped Box – Nirvana
February 20, 1967 – April 5, 1994
Age: 27
On March 30, 1994 Kurt Cobain arrived at a detox center in L.A., inspired by the urging of his family and friends. However, the very next day he jumped the fence and returned to Seattle. Less than two weeks later he would be found dead of a shotgun wound to the head. A suicide note was found by his body.

7. Ronnie Van Zant (Age: 29) (Lynyrd Skynyrd)
Steve Gaines (Age: 28) (Lynyrd Skynyrd)
Cassie Gaines (Age:29) (Lynyrd Skynyrd)

Gimme Three Steps – Lynyrd Skynyrd
After the tragic airplane accident that took the lives of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper, I would have to say that the next most tragic music related airplane crash would be the one that took the lives of three members of Lynyrd Skynyrd on October 20, 1977.

8. Otis Redding
(Sittin’ On) The Dock Of The Bay – Otis Redding
September 9, 1941  – December 10, 1967

Crazy Train – Ozzy Osbourne
December 6, 1956 – March 19, 1982
Age: 25
Ozzy Osbourne’s legendary and extremely talented guitarist was also taken from us in a plane crash. But this time the cause of the crash was pure stupidity. The pilot (Andrew Aycock) who had promised a safe flight (as Randy was afraid of flying) thought it would be a great idea to “buzz” the tour bus and wake the rest of the band. On the fourth attempt a wing clipped the bus and crashed killing all onboard the plane instantly. No drugs were found in Randy’s body, but the pilot tested positive for cocaine.

17. Jim Morrison (The Doors)
The End – The Doors
December 8, 1943 – July 3, 1971

However, his effort to quit drugs failed and he overdosed on a speedball while on tour.

22. Gram Parsons
Love Hurts – Gram Parsons

Nick died young after he overdosed on the antidepressant amitriptyline. Some think it was suicide, others think it was accidental.

April 27, 1947 – April 24, 1975

June 16, 1971 – September 13, 1996
Age: 25
After attending the Mike Tyson / Bruce Seldon boxing match at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Tupac Shakur and his entourage got into an altercation with a known member of the Crips gang. Later that night, as he rode with Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight, a car pulled up next to them and fired about a dozen rounds. Tupac was hit four times and although there was hope he could survive the gunshot wounds (as he had previously) he died a few days later.

May they all rest in peace and thanks for the music.

The Hater’s Guide To Taylor Swift

Referenced from Drew Magary’s Blog Post

Apropos of nothing, can I unsubscribe to Taylor Swift? Is that possible? I’d really like it to be possible.

I don’t quite know how I ended up with all this Taylor Swift in my life. FACT: Eighty-five percent of all advertisements and magazine covers are now mandated by law to feature Taylor Swift, or at least some portion of her hair crimping. Anytime there’s an award show or special live presentation or a Kia dealership grand opening, you can pretty much count on Swift showing up with her guitar and undermining the days and days of effort that Autotune put into creating one of her albums. Fuck, even Collinsworth spent last week’s Sunday Night game gushing about her. I can’t get away from this bitch. I even know she dates Jake Gyllenhaal. AND OMG BEEFY NECK GUY FROM TWILIGHT TOTALLY BROKE HER HEART!

I don’t understand all the fuss. Taylor Swift makes training bra music. Her shit is one step removed from a Fisher Price Little People CD. Every record she sells should come with a complimentary pack of Spree. If you’re over fourteen, you shouldn’t want anything to do with it. But no, every fucking adult music critic on Earth fawns over this girl and protects her like she’s some kind of goddamn forest pixie. SHE’S SO MATURE FOR AGE! SHE HANDLED THAT KANYE SITUATION SO WELL! SHE’S SO ARTICULATE! No, seriously. Someone wrote that.

Swift’s thoughtful honesty and surprisingly articulate take on life should be commended.

What is this, a fucking report card? HOORAY! SHE’S ALMOST 21 AND HAS THE ABILITY TO SPEAK! And since when is this chick honest? Have you heard some of these lyrics?

But she wears short skirts, I wear t-shirts
She’s cheer captain and I’m on the bleachers
Dreaming bout the day when you wake up and find
That what you’re lookin for has been here the whole time

First of all, is there anything honest about that? This woman is a fucking ROCK STAR and a millionaire. She’s, like, ninety stages above the cheer captain. Cheer captains are fucking special ed students compared to her. And she never wears fucking t-shirts. She wears $10,000 Halston gowns and all kinds of other sparkly shit. Some producer in Nashville probably made her write this so that fat Jenny in the seventh grade out there would have music that “speaks to her”. And there’s nothing mature about this shit. It’s the soundtrack to a trip to Spencer Gifts. Anyone could write that. I could write that.

It’s late at night and he’s sendin’ you a text
But you just bought your first box of Kotex
He doesn’t know you’re a bloody mess
But if he saw your crotch, he could probably guess

It’s not that hard, okay? This fucking Kanye thing has made everyone treat Swift like she’s some precious doll they bought at the Franklin Mint. Meanwhile, Justin Bieber and his fans get made fun of (rightfully so) by fucking EVERYONE. And Bieber actually IS a kid! He’s not even voting age, the way this woman is. But somehow you’re an asshole if you hate Taylor Swift? That’s bullshit. BULLSHIT. Just because she’s the official spank bank material for every white asshole on the Texas Rangers roster doesn’t mean I have to give a crap.

People, I am here to grant you permission to hate Taylor Swift at will. You can go right ahead and laugh at her horrible singing and hope she ends up blowing local Tennessee DJs in lieu of record company payola handouts. Go ahead. Don’t feel bad. She’s a big girl. She can handle it. She’ll probably even be able to make a really shitty album out of it.

“The Music Girl” – Sketching and Crayon-Coloring

Sorry Guys, for the delay !!
Actually, I was quite busy in preparation for my Exams and even in Fine Arts Work for my College Fest ” MOKSHA: The Annual Cultural Festival of NSIT “, which is going to be held in few days. I’ll tell y’all about that more, but Later some day. 😛

Well, In the Meantime, I’ve even made a Poster for my College Fest Event (organised by me and my friends), which I now would like to display here.

The Event which we are probably going to organize in our College Fest is ” The Music Quiz”. 8)

Well obviously, I have to make a Poster related to Music stuff for our Event which must have to lure the people and attend our Event.

So Getting started with it, I’ve made a Pencil Sketching of a Girl with a Headphone on her head, depicting as she is Listening Music. After Sketching (with some rubbing and re-drawing), It’s time to apply some color. But this this time, I’ve used Wax Crayons for base with some Oil Pastel Colors for highlighting.

And ultimately, you get your Job done like this. 😀

198239_1917711028107_8152088_n

Yaa !!! You’ve got it. It is almost looking like the same picture as it was in my Previous Gravatar Image. Well Actually, I made its sketch though it’s looking bit different from that I’ve made. 😛

Anyways, getting back to work. Since this is for our College Fest Event, I have to even mention the Event Name as well. For that, I’ve made a Graffiti, suiting the Sketch and even with the Theme.

200726_1917271417117_6531493_n

After merging above two stuffs, it ultimately becomes  an One Complete Crayon Poster Art.

197546_1917270497094_694663_n

Hopefully, People would come for our Event after looking on this Poster and getting fascinated towards it,ultimately getting a huge attendance for our Event. 😛
